We moved ten years ago into a 300 year old colonial home in Ipswich, MA. I had a dream for many years that I would open an antique shop in a barn. Since I grew up in New England and loved colonial history, and the changing seasons, this was a great move for me. Ipswich has 50 plus First period homes and a magnificent beach. Instead of flying to work as a business consultant, I now had the freedom to open a shop in our barn. My husband supported my dream and winterized the barn for the shop.

Self Taught Artist
I decided to paint murals on the walls of our home and shop. I was inspired by the primitive art of itinerant artists of the 18th and 19thc. Living only 4 miles from Cogswell Grant, I had the opportunity to see real examples of the arts and crafts of earlier times. In that spirit, I began to paint. My pieces are both serene and joyful. I create my work from early photos, history books, calendars and the ever changing landscapes of our seacoast community. Many of my collectors have said they could "walk right into my paintings".

My artwork is displayed in small room settings in our Olde Ipswich Country Shop.

Guests of the B&B have the opportunity to see originals which decorate our home. They often visit my studio and purchase both my paintings and my greeting cards.

My work has been purchased by the American Folk Art Museum shop, specialty shops nationwide and by private collectors.

In addition, I am juried into designer craftsmen shows in MA and PA.

Commissions and Licensing
With the support and enthusiasm of my family and friends, I‘ve had quite an accelerated folk art career. In the past 5 years, I have completed both original commissions and recreations of earlier works. I love to create village scenes and recently completed a large heirloom mural depicting all of the homes and buildings of significance to one family from 1690 to today. I paint smaller folk art house portraits. With the development of digital technology, I have been able to offer limited edition, canvas prints of my work in many sizes.
